Excitement is building for our inaugural West Midlands Tech Awards at the ICC on December 13.
We can’t wait to celebrate the amazing creativity and talent of our tech heroes across the region.
Our shortlist of finalists showcases a fantastic array of innovation and dedication to this important and growing industry – worth £5 billion.
The 2018 West Midlands Tech Awards are presented by BirminghamLive and CoventryLive and our headline sponsor is NatWest Bank.
There are 12 categories and the winners will be revealed on the night.

We are so thrilled to have Gadget Show star Ortis Deley as our host.
The multi talented presenter is also a radio DJ and actor, whose credits include Derailed with Clive Owen andJennifer Anistoon, the BBC’s Doctors and ITV’s The Bill.
Channel 5’s The Gadget Show focuses on consumer technology. Ortis’ love of science and technology began when he was a child as he discovered sci-fi and comic books. He is a self-confessed bonafide geek with an honours degree in Pharmacy.
Stunning street food
We love the food at the ICC and are delighted to offer our guests a new option, away from the traditional sit down awards meal.
On December 13th a fabulous selection of street food will be served featuring Cowboy burgers with ranch sauce, Jerk chicken, a vegan Gobi box, some gorgeous salads and delicious dessert options of sweet waffle and toppers and sweet fondue fruits, marshmallows and churros.
Our awards wouldn’t be possible without the brilliant backing we have received from some of the best companies in the West Midlands.

Our prestigious panel of judges faced a tough task in creating a shortlist.
Featuring senior figures from the world of business and public sector, the panel was led by Dave Maclean – West Midlands Combined Authority Digital Board Chair and Packt Publishing CEO.
Other members were:
Sarah Windrum, co-founder of the Emerald Group, a Warwickshire IT consultancy;
Richard Hill, head of automotive and manufacturing at NatWest;
Roy Meredith, leads the tech, digital media and creative sectors for inward investment body West Midlands Growth Company;
Tim Kay, director at financial services firm KPMG where he heads up the regional technology and media team in the Midlands; and
Marc Reeves, Midlands editor-in-chief for Reach Plc which publishes BirminghamLive and CoventryLive.
Marc Reeves said: “I am thrilled at the standard of entries for our inaugural West Midlands Tech Awards led by BirminghamLive and CoventryLive.
“There truly are some remarkable companies in our region that are creating some amazing services and products that will ensure the West Midlands’ tech industry thrives.”
The judges were bowled over by the fantastically high quality of the entries.
Creating a shortlist was no easy task, but they did it and, of course, that isn’t the end….
