Downtime for Fortnite began earlier this morning ahead of schedule to prepare for the season 7 update.
The scheduled maintenance is expected to finish at about 14.25 UTC bringing with it a frosty scene, new items, weapons, maps and more.
The key theme is snow and ice, with Epic Games bringing winter to life for season 7.
As well as the new Iceberg biome and the X-4 Stormwing Plan, which was teased in the season 7 trailer there are new wraps.
You can unlock them through the season 7 Battle Pass.
The Battle Pass, which has more than 100 rewards, costs 950 V-Bucks.
Epic Games has said the websites and forums are operational.
The patch updates revealed three new locations:
- New Location: Frosty Flights
- New Location: Polar Peak
- New Location: Happy Hamlet
As well as other unnamed Points of Interest (POIs) that will appear across the island.
Players will also be able to slide hockey pucks on icy surfaces as well as use a zipline around the iceberg.
There’s also a new tournament, Explorer Pop-Up Cup.
There’s also a new Creative mode which Epic Games warned may have a few hiccups as its an early release.
Epic Games’ patch notes said: “This is the in-game tool your character holds that’s used to edit, copy, and manipulate props in the world. Experiment with its features to discover all the things it can do.”
It also lets you fly and create your own tools.
