There’s another Fortnite update and version 6.02 brings an exciting new game mode called “Disco Domination”. The aim is to capture the dancefloor with your team and by using your best boogie.
Essentially a capture the flag mode, you’ll need to emote on the dancefloor. As you strut your stuff the disco ball will rise and once captured your HUD will show a “dance bar” which will fill as long as you control one dance floor.
First team to get 100 per cent in their dance bar will win the match.
As the match progresses the dance bar will fill faster, giving a team that’s behind a chance to catch up.
You can’t build on the dance floor but you can put up protection around it.
Respawning is turned on until the third storm circle and there will be five dance floors somewhere on the map when the storm is stationary.
The new mode puts 100 players against each other with a new 50v50 mode. This is considered to be a really good way for new players to ease themselves into Fortnite and to hone their building skills
Hilariously Epic has also made a change to Bonesy because there was a bug in v6.01 that had “caused him to bark more than was intended”.
Also added to the 6.02 update in Battle Royale is a quad rocket launcher. It’s nuts and you’ll want to avoid being hit by someone wielding one. You’ll find it in chests, supply drops and vending machines.
Save the World gets a new weapon too – the Noble Launcher. It spits out a beam of piercing energy and is designed to reduce crowds of enemies to dust.
The Skull Trooper skin is also back in the item shop.
There are numerous changes to the loot drops too. You can see the full list on Epic’s patch page – if you’re so inclined.
There’s also a fix for Xbox One owners who were plagued with slow texture pop in because of a disk performance issue. After the update Xbox One owners will see faster load times.
It’s a big, 10GB, update though – so start it well in advance of playing.
The patch is already live.
